Dear Friends,

This is the most difficult letter I have ever had to write. As many of you know, I live in the shadows of the World Trade Center. I walk near "ground hero" every day. The impact on my life is beyond description. I know I am not alone, having heard that one out of three people have been affected, either directly or indirectly, by this unimaginable tragedy.

I have discussed this situation with advisors and come to the conclusion that, at least for the next few weeks or so, the foundation should not do normal fundraising and website activities. This is out of respect for our fallen heroes and those friends who were just doing their jobs and their children, wives, relatives, and friends, who now have a giant piece of their hearts missing.

Does this mean that World Water Rescue Foundation is not as important after September 11th. I think you can answer that yourself. We have been telling you how important it is to be concerned about our dwindling freshwater supply. Now, after September 11th, this concern is increased by the vulnerability of our freshwater supply to terrorism. Therefore, the mission of the World Water Rescue Foundation is more important than ever. Accordingly, after this short hiatus, we will be back, asking for your help, and we know you will be there for us.

Thank you!
