William E. Marks
author of
"The Holy Order of Water: Healing Earth's Waters and Ourselves"

William Marks has been a longtime advocate for the protection of water. To experience firsthand the status of America's waters, he undertook a two-year, 7000 mile horseback journey from San Diego to Maine. He has visited Europe, North Africa and Australia to study historical water management practices. Recently he traveled in the Negev Desert in Israel and the Petra Region of Jordan studying remnants of ancient cisterns and irrigation projects from Biblical and Byzantine times. He is also reviewing the current state-of-the-art desert reclamation projects that are attempting to work in harmony with water's energies in order to enhance its life-giving potential.

Since "The Holy Order of Water" was published in 2001, William has been traveling, speaking, doing media interviews and networking with people involved in water research. WWRF first met William on October 16, 2003 at the United Nations. He was speaking at the "Water of Life" conference. You could hear a pin drop when he spoke about how water may serve as an important factor in our finding a common ground to neutralize many ongoing religious conflicts. Since then, William has become an important friend of WWRF and we are honored to name him our first .

Thank you William for showing us that water can only be understood when seen as the mediator between the physical world and the spiritual world. From birth to death, each of us is on a water journey. A journey we share with all life forms.
